Coleg Sir Gâr
In English, it is also called Carmarthenshire College.
It is an Accredited College of the University of Glamorgan and also has partnerships with other Welsh universities.
Its university course offering includes over 79 courses - from Higher National Certificates and Diplomas to Foundation and Honours Degrees as well as postgraduate and professional qualifications. Subject areas include Engineering and Construction, Art and Design, Computing, Business and Management, Education, Health and Social Care, Land-based studies and Sport.
In 2010 there was a total of 338 applications through UCAS for undergraduate courses, of which 125 were accepted.

There is substantial e-learning activity at the Virtual College. Its Virtual College was created in 1998. This is based at the Llanelli campus in South West Wales. Over 4500 students have been involved in online learning with Coleg Sir Gâr in the last eight years. All the on-line programmes are nationally accredited by awarding bodies (EdExcel and OCN Wales).
