The Ibero-American Association of Distance Education Universities (Asociación Iberoamericana de Educación Superior a Distancia, AIESAD) is a non-profit organization created at the First Iberoamerican Symposium Open University Presidents in meeting in Madrid, 1980. Its mission was and is to improve and expand Distance Education for the benefit of the peoples of Latin America.

As of 2004, AIESAD comprised 42 higher education institutions in Europe and Latin America.

Current AIESAD Board members come from UNED, UNAM, Cederj, the University of Havana and UAPA (Open University for Adults in the Dominican Republic).

The Permanent Secretariat of the AIESAD is located within UNED, Spain.
