Hosei University was established in 1880, as Tokyo Hogakusha, giving it one of the longest histories and traditions of any universities in Japan. More than 130 years later the university consists of 15 schools, 14 departments, 13 graduate schools, and has greatly contributed to society by producing large numbers of valuable personnel under the founding spirit of 'freedom and progress'.
